Welcome
to East Cornwall Riding Club website
for a full range of Equestrian activities, schedules, dates and
links,
everything for the horse rider in East Cornwall.
East
Cornwall Riding Club was formed in 1971 and is an Adult Riding Club
affiliated to the British Riding Clubs
as part of the British Horse Society and we cater for members over 17
years of age.
The
club has approximately 140 members and its main aim it to
promote and encourage riding as a recreational sport and to promote good
fellowship amongst riders.
During
the summer (April – September) the club puts on a variety of
events
at its base field at Cutparrett in East Cornwall.
The events include showjumping, dressage, showing and Instruction
with experienced and professional instructors.
We also utilise the excellent facilities at Pontispool and Stockland
Lovell
to put on camps where horse and rider can experience a holiday away
together.
In
the winter we hold showjumping and dressage competitions
as well as instruction at the Duchy college in Callington
and in December we hold our annual dinner dance.
The
club actively supports Area 19 of the British Riding Club organisation
by sending teams to the Riding Club Qualifiers competing against other
Clubs in Area 19
in the hope of sending teams to the British Riding Club National
Championships.
In 2006 we sent 2
showjumping teams to Lincoln Championships
but 2007 has seen us have our best year yet where we qualified a team
for every Championship:
Hartpury – Novice Indoor Showjumping,
Daventry – Hunter Trial, Offchurch – Horse Trials and Lincoln – 3
showjumping teams.
We
are a friendly club that encourages all abilities
and we try to ensure that everyone who attends our events have a good
safe time.
The
cost of membership for 2008 will be £22.00.
